This fundraising initiative is for the benefit of the Stellenbosch University Bursary Fund in support of current and future Institute of Mindfulness South Africa (IMISA) students who have been affected economically by the current coronavirus pandemic.

On Sunday, October 18th I will be running the virtual Cape Town Marathon to raise money for the fund. The Cape Town Marathon itself has been cancelled, but there is a virtual option which means that anyone anywhere can run the 42.2km marathon distance with a specially designed app to track progress. A trail marathon right in the heart of the city. And with heart.

My plan is to cover the 42.2km marathon distance by running 5 laps of the 8.5km
Signal Hill/Lion’s Head loop, with +/- 1000m ascent.

My goal is to raise R100 000 for the student fund.

Here’s how you can help:

1. Pledge your support by sponsoring 1 lap or 2, 3, 4 or all 5 at R100 each.

2. Spread the word (with a personal message to your contacts) …

  • visit, like, follow and share this Facebook page

  • inform your family, and friends of this initiative and ask them to donate

3. Join me!

  • come run a lap or two with me, or all 5?!

  • come and cheer me/us on on the day

Please contact me to let me know now how you’d like to get involved. All donations go directly to the student fund.

                          Thank you for your support!

                          🖤 Michal

P. S. Here’s my recent blog entry on how I understand mindfulness and running come together.
